மின்னுருவாய் முன்னுருவில் வேதம் நான்காய்
விளக்கொளியாய் முளைத்தெழுந்த திங்கள் தானாய்,
பின்னுருவாய் முன்னுருவில் பிணிமூப் பில்லாப்
பிறப்பிலியாய் இறப்பதற்கே எண்ணாது, எண்ணும்
பொன்னுருவாய் மணியுருவில் பூதம் ஐந்தாய்ப்
புனலுருவாய் அனலுருவில் திகழுஞ் சோதி,
தன்னுருவாய் என்னுருவில் நின்ற எந்தை
தளிர்ப்புரையும் திருவடியென் தலைமே லவ்வே. (2) 1
Summary
The tender feet, of the Lord are on my head. He is the subtle essence of all these forms, the four Vedas, light of the lamp, the rising Moon, the more sublime, the ageless, disease-less, birth less, deathless one, the golden image, the gem-form, the five elements, the fluid, the fiery, the radiant form within me.

பாருருவில் நீரெரிகால் விசும்பு மாகிப்
பல்வேறு சமயமுமாய்ப் பரந்து நின்ற,
ஏருருவில் மூவருமே யென்ன நின்ற,
இமையவர்தந் திருவுருவே றெண்ணும் போது,
ஓருருவம் பொன்னுருவம் ஒன்று செந்தீ
ஒன்றுமா கடலுருவம் ஒத்து நின்ற,
மூவுருவும் கண்டபோ தொன்றாம் சோதி
முகிலுருவம் எம்மடிகள் உருவந் தானே. 2
Summary
When contemplated, the Lord appears a the tri – murti of this fair universe and the gods, the sun and the Moon, the mighty ocean, the formless elements Earth, fire, water, air and space, and the various schools the theology, The Lord who pervades all is my master. He is the dark cloud-hued one.

திருவடிவில் கருநெடுமால் சேயன் என்றும்
திரேதைக்கண் வளையுருவாய்த் திகழ்ந்தா னென்றும்,
பொருவடிவில் கடலமுதம் கொண்ட காலம்
பெருமானைக் கருநீல வண்ணன் றன்னை,
ஒருவடிவத் தோருருவென் றுணர லாகா
ஊழிதோ றூழிநின் றேத்தல் அல்லால்,
கருவடிவில் செங்கண்ண வண்ணன் றன்னைக்
கட்டுரையே யாரொருவர் காண்கிற் பாரே? 3
Summary
The dark blue-hued Lord is a picture of auspiciousness. In each age he takes a different form, suited to that age, In the Tretayuga he took the huge form of a tortoise to chum ambrosia from the ocean, other than praising him as the fair Lord of dark hue and lotus eyes, can anyone describe him in totality?

இந்திரற்கும் பிரமற்கும் முதல்வன் றன்னை
இருநிலம்கால் தீநீர்விண் பூதம் ஐந்தாய்,
செந்திறத்த தமிழோசை வடசொல் லாகித்
திசைநான்கு மாய்த்திங்கள் ஞாயி றாகி,
அந்தரத்தில் தேவர்க்கும் அறிய லாகா
அந்தணனை அந்தணர்மாட் டந்தி வைத்த
மந்திரத்தை, மந்திரத்தால் மறவா தென்றும்
வாழுதியேல் வாழலாம் மடநெஞ் சம்மே. 4
Summary
The Lord who is master of Indra and Brahma appears as the five elements Earth, water, fire air and space, the poetry of Tamil and the Sanskrit Vedas. He is the four Quarters, Moon and Sun, the gods in the sky, the invisible Veda-purusha, the secret of the Upanishads. O Heart! If you can remember him through the Mantra, we can live in eternity.

ஒண்மிதியில் புனலுருவி ஒருகால் நிற்ப
ஒருகாலுங் காமருசீர் அவுணன் உள்ளத்து,
எண்மதியுங் கடந்தண்ட மீது போகி
இருவிசும்பி னூடுபோ யெழுந்து மேலைத்
தண்மதியும் கதிரவனும் தவிர ஓடித்
தாரகையின் புறந்தடவி அப்பால் மிக்கு,
மண்முழுதும் அகப்படுத்து நின்ற எந்தை
மலர்புரையும் திருவடியே வணங்கி னேனே. 5
Summary
With one foot washed by the waves of the ocean, and one foot lifted over the Earth, into the wide space, leaving the Moon and sun for below, extending into the reaches of the constellations and father, beyond the good Asura Mabli’s imagination, the Lord straddled the Universe, I worship his lotus feet.

அலம்புரிந்த நெடுந்தடக்கை அமரர் வேந்தன்
அஞ்சிறைப்புள் தனிப்பாகன் அவுணர்க் கென்றும்,
சலம்புரிந்தங் கருளில்லாத் தன்மை யாளன்
தானுகந்த வூரெல்லாம் தந்தாள் பாடி,
நிலம்பரந்து வரும்கலுழிப் பெண்ணை யீர்த்த
நெடுவேய்கள் படுமுத்த முந்த வுந்தி,
புலம்பரந்த பொன்விளைக்கும் பொய்கை வேலிப்
பூங்கோவ லூர்த்தொழுதும் போது நெஞ்சே. 6
Summary
The Lord who is king of the celestials has mighty arms of exceeding benevolence. He rides the beautiful Garuda bird. Always angry and merciless towards Asuras. He is raised in all the towns where he resides. O Heart! Came let us worship him in Tirukkovalur surrounded by fertile wet-lands where the river Pannai throws up grains of gold and pearls collected from the Bamboo thickness where it flows.

வற்புடைய வரைநெடுந்தோள் மன்னர் மாள
வடிவாய மழுவேந்தி யுலக மாண்டு,
வெற்புடைய நெடுங்கடலுள் தனிவே லுய்த்த
வேள்முதலா வென்றானூர் விந்தம் மேய,
கற்புடைய மடக்கன்னி காவல் பூண்ட
கடிபொழில்சூழ் நெடுமறுகில் கமல வேலி,
பொற்புடைய மலையரையன் பணிய நின்ற
பூங்கோவ லூர்த்தொழுதும் போது நெஞ்சே. 7
Summary
The Lord who wielded a sharp battle axe against mighty Asura kings and ruled the Earth and conquered the spear-wielding subramanya and others resides in Punkavalur, guarded by the beautiful dame Parvati, resident of the Vindhayas, and worshipped by Malai Ariyan, king of the mountains.

உள்ளுவா ருள்ளத்தாய், உலக மேத்தும்
காரகத்தாய். கார்வானத் துள்ளாய். கள்வா.
காமருபூங் காவிரியின் தென்பால் மன்னு
பேரகத்தாய், பேராதென் நெஞ்சி னுள்ளாய்.
பெருமான்உன் திருவடியே பேணி னேனே. (2) 8
Summary
O Lord who resides in the water, on the lofty peaks, in Nila-Tinga! Tundam, in prosperous kanchi, in the port city of Vehka, in the hearts of devotees in Karvanam , on the Southern banks of beautiful kaveri in Perakam, and forever in my Heart! O trickster, I desire your lotus feet.

கொங்கத்தார் வளங்கொன்றை யலங்கல் மார்வன்
குலவரையன் மடப்பாவை யிடப்பால் கொண்டான்,
பங்கத்தாய். பாற்கடலாய். பாரின் மேலாய்.
பனிவரையி னுச்சியாய். பவள வண்ணா,
எங்குற்றாய் எம்பெருமான். உன்னை நாடி
ஏழையேன் இங்கனமே ஊழிதரு கேனே. 9
Summary
O Lord of Mallai on the shores of the sea that washes out heaps of gems! O Lord of kanchi surrounded by high walls! O Lord of per-nagari the Lord Siva who is spouse of Parvati, -daughter of the mountain-king Malay, -stands by you. Lord reclining in the milk-ocean, O Lord of the Earth, O Lord standing on high snow-clad peaks! where are you? I wander piteously searching for you.

பொன்னானாய். பொழிலேழும் காவல் பூண்ட
புகழானாய். இகழ்வாய தொண்ட னேன்நான்,
என்னானாய்? என்னானாய்? என்னல் அல்லால்
என்னறிவ னேழையேன், உலக மேத்தும்
தென்னானாய் வடவானாய் குடபா லானாய்
குணபால தாயினாய் இமையோர்க் கென்றும்
முன்னானாய் பின்னானார் வணங்கும் சோதி.
திருமூழிக் களத்தானாய் முதலா னாயே. 10
Summary
O First Lord! O Golden Lord, sentinel of the seven worlds! Other than exclaiming, “What happened to you? Where are you?”, this despicable lowly devotee-self knows nothing. O Lord of the South, Lord of the North, Lord of East and west! O Rutted elephant! O First Lord of the celestials! You are the radiant Lord of Tirumulikkalam, where later generations will worship you forever.
